1. Installation process.
------------------------

   When you read this file, you have already unpacked the SMTHLP.ZIP
   file to a new subdirectory - hope so.

   Now there are various files:

   SMTHELP.DOT	- must be copied to the directory where your Word 6 
                  templates are. For example "C:\WORD6\TEMPLATE"

   SMTHELP.HLP  - must be copied into your windows directory. This
                  file contains further informations about the usage
                  of SmartHelP.


   The rest of the files are a part of the DEMO-example and can stay
   in this directory. 
   The files are:

   DEMO.DOC	- A Word 6.0 document
   DEMO.MAK	- A Visual Basic 3.0 project file
   DEMO.INF
   DEMO.HPJ



2. Getting Started
------------------

   Run Microsoft Word 6.0.
   Choose 'Open' from the 'File'-menu.
   Load the DEMO.DOC file.

   For more informations click the help icon at the toolbar and
   choose the 'Getting Started' topic.


3. Why SmartHelP ???
--------------------

   This product was designed for all those, who want to have a 
   simple but useful help in their applications.
   If you are planning to built an interactive-multimedia-macro-
   power-user-confusion help, SmartHelP is really not the right 
   thing for you. 
   But if you say, »I´ve got an pretty good application and I want 
   to provide help to my users when they press the <F1> key ... «; 
   if you do not want spend weeks on it and if you want to write 
   your manual and your help at the same time, maybe SmartHelP is 
   the best what can happen to you.
